Day 21

After Twin Falls, we drove on to Boise to spend the rest of the weekend with James' family.  Here are a few pics I got of my other Nephews! They are so darn cute!

Day 20

On this day, we drove to Twin Falls to look at apartments, and here are a few photos of the gorge and bridge that you pass over into the town...

Kinda excited to move here!

Day 19

Yup you better believe I'm a few days behind!  I took just a picture of the tree-line at our local park...

nothin special!

Day 18

This was a LLLOOONNNNGGG day.  Not gonna lie, that last thing I wanted to do when I got home was to be awake, let alone take a picture.  So I went for the obvious and took one of my favorite subjects...JAMES!

Intent on his internet browsing

He said the flash was too bright

Day 17

What can I say?  Another work day...and another forgotten picture until the last moment of course.  But I thought it would be cool to get a night shot of the huge tree in front of our apartment.  I really love the green and black contrast

There is a little speck of red, it's a star...

Day 16

Today we went down to Idaho Falls because James' sister and little brother from Boise, and his Grandma came down to stay at Staci's house for a few days.  We spent FHE down at the dunes in Idaho Falls and then had smores.  I didn't get a picture of the smores but I did get some from the dunes...

Gotta love his modeling poses

Day 15

Today {Sunday} we went to church of course.  We ran into some friends of ours that live in our complex {the Sant's} and they asked if we could be the "models" for some pictures for their digital imaging class.  Of course I should've brought my camera to get a few shots, but...I didn't...so after we were done with the pictures, they were coming over to watch a movie so I had to get a pic of James taking out the trash...riding the skate board...

Before take off...

We have lift off...

Day 14

Wow, I'm terrible.  I've been neglecting my goal, I've still been taking the pictures just haven't been posting them everyday as I should...But here is the picture for this day.  We spent the evening with the Pfister's and had a little BBQ and just watched the Laker's (yuck!) game...

Day 13

Tonight I had to close at work, so I didn't get home until 8 o'clock and James followed shortly after.  We sort of just lounged around doing nothing of importance, but then decided to go and get snow cones.  We then called up our friends The Arnold's {Gandhi and Krista} because they had just moved and just gotten a new puppy.  I took my camera with intentions to take a picture of the dog, but then left the camera in the car and quickly forgot all about it...until we got back in the car to leave.  So tonight, I decided to test out the timer on the camera and just get a picture of James and me.  So here we are, our "self, timed, portrait".

I know...not all of my pictures have been very cool or exciting, but someday you just go through the motions and that goes for our goals as well.

Day 12

Another day mostly spent at work.  I had decided yesterday that today was when I was going to take this picture of the tracks...so here they are...

My favorite of the two

Whenever we tell others where in Rexburg we live, we often say we are from the "other side of the tracks"...

Day 11

Today was yet ANOTHER early work morning so was once again exhausted when I got home.  While driving home from the store I decided to stop over by the County Fair Grounds.  I was going to take a picture of that, but couldn't get a good enough angle.  So instead I took another picture of the canal over that way, but just a picture of a stick that was floating down stream...{i know i know, who takes a picture of a stick..yup, this girl does!} and I just decided to play around with some of the color.  The last picture is of a storm that was headed our way.  There was thunder and it was awesome!  I love summer {or almost summer} storms!

This reminds me of a microscope slide...

quite a bit more realistic but still altered a little

Nothing done to this one

Day 10

Yup, I know, I'm a day late...AGAIN!  Well this was another work day and very exhausting at that.  I sat down on the couch for awhile and started watching a movie, I looked at the clock and saw that it was about 8:30 and I was running out of day light.  So I had to miss part of my movie so I could "quickly" fulfill my goal for the day.  Every time we drive to Wal-mart we pass this mill or whatever it is.  So I decided, everyone else should get a look at it, and I'll of course want this picture to remember for when we leave...

I sort of "antiqued" this one

Oh the wonders of Rexburg

Day 9

Another day off of work.  I had originally planned to go to Porter Park and take a book, blanket and the camera, but I couldn't find our backpack that is big enough to carry it all.  So instead I just settled with taking a walk around the block and then taking a blanket out into the grassy area in front of our apartment.  So really here are just a few more pictures of some scenery around our home.

This is a canal just behind our apartment

Day 8

Happy Mother's Day!  On behalf of Mother's Day, I decided I was going to find something pretty to take a picture of.  I didn't have to look far for this one.  It was a gorgeous day today so I was gonna go for a drive and look for something nice to take a picture of.  While getting into my car, I saw a tree in the grassy area at our apartments and decided that I would just take a quick photo of it.  I loved the  bright colors and it also meant that I wouldn't have to go anywhere after all!

The branch

I just loved the contrast between the fuchsia and green.  I just love the spring!

Day 7

Oops! I totally forgot to make this post last night, but I promise you I did take this picture yesterday!  Once again, I didn't put a lot of thought into today's picture {I'm already getting bad about this, but I can't expect EVERY picture to be amazing}.  James' friend Taylor told us he had to show us something and we he did, he showed up on his new scooter.  Of course he was going to take james for a ride {no way I'm passing up this photo op!}  Without further adieu...

{decided to make it black and white since I hadn't done that yet}

This picture reminds me of when my family and I were in Key West and saw lots of guys with certain "interests" all riding together on scooters...

Day 6

Once again, this was a busy day and a busy day not spent taking pictures.  After work today I just hung out with James until we got a phone call from James' friend Gandhi {aka David} asking us to go to Dairy Queen and get a Frozen Hot Chocolate.  I decided this might be good to just get a "friend shot" of them.  This is funny because the first time I really ever hung out with James was when he invited me to do this same thing with him and Gandhi, so this brought back some old memories.  So here is just a shot of them.

Yup, that's them

This next shot was just too good to pass up.  I apologize if you really don't appreciate seeing my husband's crack, but I just had to do it.

He has released the "Crackin"

I know, these aren't pictures that really had a lot of thought or planning behind them, but I never said that the pictures I'd be taking were going to be professional.  I feel like this experience thus far has also given me more of a desire to capture more of our life and not just photos that others might find beautiful.

Day 5

Today was my day off of work so of course it was spent running errands and doing other such activities that sometimes can't be done otherwise.  I told myself that after errands were done, then would I find my next photo subject.  Well, at about 9:45 tonight I realized that I still hadn't taken any pictures today {did i really almost fail on just day 5?} so we got camera ready and headed up to the temple for some night shots.  It wasn't my most thought out photo yet, but definitely a great building to capture.

Day 4

I've had today's "photo shoot" planned for a few days now.  Tonight I went over to the Starnes' {James' sis and bro in-law} house to watch their boys/our nephews {Dallin, Parker and Landon} while they went on an Anniversary date.  We thought we'd try out shooting moving targets on the tramp.  Oh and their friend Payson was in it as well...not a nephew...

Day 3

Yes Yes I know, this is the 2nd post I've written today, but the truth is that I had been taking the pictures one day and then posting them the next day.  So it was inevitable that I was going to have to post twice at some point.  So these pictures were in fact taken earlier today.  I've noticed as I was driving around looking for what my next subject might be, I realized that in the last two days, I've been to more places around Rexburg than I probably have in MONTHS!  So here they are!

"My Town"

"Gandhi's Point"
 {our friend David, whom we call Gandhi, ran out of gas here once and we came and got him}

Day 2

Today as I was running errands, I decided to take the camera with me so I could go explore afterwards.  I've noticed just within the last few days of deciding that this is what I was going to do for the first challenge, I have become more aware of my surroundings...more aware of where I'm going and the building or people or nature that I drive past everyday.  As my husband said, I was finding "joy in the journey" instead of absently making my way to my destination.   So here are the photo's from Day 2!

I walk past these little guys everyday going to work

I took away some of the shadow and then boosted the color

this is raw...

I can't promise that I will be able to keep up the 3 photos a day.  This does mean that I will have to just get more and more creative...
